Gavin Campbell

Founder and Managing Principal

A commercial real estate investor for nearly 40 years and an active civic leader, Gavin founded Steelbridge in 2006 after serving as President and CEO of the Florida Office Property Company, a 2.6 million square foot office REIT that he assembled, managed and ultimately sold just prior to the 2007–2009 recession for gross returns in excess of 20%. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director of Acquisitions at LaSalle Investment Management where he invested over $1 billion for LaSalle’s clients in a broad range of property types and U.S. markets, consistently outperforming NCREIF benchmarks by 200–400 basis points. Prior to joining LaSalle, Gavin worked for the federal and state governments and the Civic Committee, a Chicago-based non-profit economic development organization.

Gavin is the former Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, former President of Leadership Greater Chicago, the Ravenswood River Neighbors Association, and the Latino Chicago Theater Company. He is also the former Chairman of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois, where he co-led the effort to save the internationally acclaimed Mies Van Der Rohe designed Farnsworth House and open it as an international museum. Gavin is currently a member of the Yale Development Council and Yale Parent’s Council.. He received a BA Magna Cum Laude from Yale College in 1982 and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
